Board meeting ends in draw

Wednesday March 10 2010

The Limerick hurling stalemate is set to continue, after a meeting of the county board produced no new initiatives.

County chairman Liam Lenihan revealed the board was prepared to engage a professional negotiator in an effort to break the deadlock that has crippled the game in the county since a large number of players refused to work with manager Justin McCarthy.

"This problem can only be sorted out by talking; the team management and executive are available for talks and I now believe we need a professional mediator," said Lenihan.

He denied that any pressure had been applied to younger members of the panel in an effort to persuade them to return to action.
