A SPOOF film trailer which was secretly shot at Ardmore Studios in Bray recently will be aired at the National Convention Centre this Saturday during the Irish Film and Television Awards (the Iftas).

FOLLOWING ON from the success of the opening lecture of the Kilmacanogue History Society where 140 members were present, the next lecture is scheduled to take place on the 7th February in the Glenview Hotel. Titled 'In the Footsteps of Augustine Henry', it will be presented by Séamus O'brien. Augustine Henry is one of the most famous of the pioneering plant hunters who travelled to China in the latter part of the 19th century. He played a key role in establishing the basis for our present knowledge of the Chinese flora. Séamus O'brien will tell all present the fascinating story of Henry's life and work, and of the three expeditions Séamus did himself along with his dedicated team of botanists and horticulturalists which they undertook in 2002, 2004 and 2005 to retrace Henry's routes.
