Speeding fines for drivers
A NUMBER OF motorists received speeding fines at Arklow District Court this week.
Yvonne Mcgrath of 97 Sandymount Road, Dublin was fined €250. The court heard that a vehicle registered to Mcgrath was detecting travelling at 132km in a 100km per hour zone at N11 Johnstown on April 2, 2011.
The court was told that the defendant sought to nominate a driver but failed to do so within the allowed time frame.
A similar fine was imposed on Rene Cadwell of Tomagaddy, Ballycanew who was detected travelling at 117km in a 100km per hour zone on May 25, 2011.
The court heard that the defendant attempted to pay the initial fine but was too late.
A fine of €250 was also given to Simon Kelly of Leura, Kilcroney Lane, Bray whose vehicle was travelling at 115km in a 100km per hour zone at N11 Johnstown on May 26, 2011.
Sharon Brady of 30 Old Conna Grove, Bray received the same fine when her car was detected at 116km in a 100km per hour zone on May 28, 2011.
