A movie history of Ardmore Studios

THE Kilmacanogue History Society hosted their latest lecture on Tuesday night (2nd) in the new venue of Kilmacanogue N.S. Hall. Presented by Kevin Moriarty, the theme of the lecture was on 'The History of Ardmore Studios'.
Kevin told the story of Ardmore Studios and the history of film making in Wicklow over the past 50 years. From Cagney and Burton in earlier times to Roberts, Gibson and Rhys Meyers, Ardmore Studios has been synonymous with Irish film making, and Wicklow has become known as the Hollywood of Europe.
Kevin Moriarty is Managing Director of Ardmore Studios and has been working there since 1973 and during this time he has met with many of the top international film producers and directors and a galaxy of screen icons.
Kevin was uniquely qualified to speak on this subject and his insights proved fascinating. Next Lecture is on Tuesday, April 6.
