MOTHER'S DAY SALE: Kilcoole Community Thrift Shop are holding a Mother's Day Sale in Byrnes Mill Room on Sunday March 14 from 3.00 p.m. to 6.00 p.m. with major bargains in men's, women's and childrens wear, books, bric-a-brac, household items and toys. There will also be a Mothers Day raffle.

On the day, the Thrift Shop Committee will present their first donation to the nominated group for March, which is the Senior Citizens Group. The Committee would like to thank everyone who has supported the thrift shop so far.

NEW PRIMARY SCHOOL

Sixth classes in both St. Anthony's and St. Brigid's will finish school on Thursday June 24 and all other pupils will finish at 12 noon that day. A removals company will move St. Anthony's 'junior furniture'over to St. Brigid's building and St. Brigid's 'senior furniture' over to St. Anthony's building.

Parental support will be needed to get classrooms set up on that day. Pupils will go their new classrooms with new classmates on the morning of the summer holidays Friday June 25, which will hopefully make the transition in August/ September easier.

FOLK GROUP IN CONCERT

On Friday March 26 at 8.00 p.m. in St. Anthony's Church Kilcoole, the Holy Redeemer Folk Group will present an evening of popular and inspirational music, featuring works from Elton John, U2, Take That, ABBA, Liam Lawton and many more.

Tickets are priced at €10, and children under 12 are free. Proceeds are in aid of St. Vincent de Paul, and the Kilcoole Music Festival. Tickets are available at the door, and also from Colette on 087 6833206, Miriam on 087 9778255, from Kilcoole Pharmacy, Main Street, or the Parish Office in Greystones or from Robert Nolan, Post Office, Newtown.

THRIFT SHOP EXPANDS

The Thrift Shop has moved into bigger premises on Penny Lane, off Main Street. Stocking larger range of Major bargains in men's, women's and childrens wear, books, bric-a-brac, household items and toys. The nominated group to benefit next month will be The Gemma Appeal.

SENIOR CITIZENS TRIP

The group will take their annual trip to the Maritime Hotel in Bantry from Monday April 5 to Friday April 9, with the coach leaving Greystones Dart Station at 9.45 a.m., to join up with the coach leaving St. Anthony's Church at 10 a.m.; arriving at approx. 5.30 p.m. in Bantry For further information please contact Tony Rennix on 2877236 or 086 0747039, or Veronica Byrne on 2819326 or 086 3935471. Full payment for the trip needs to be received no later than March 22.

FUNDRAISER IN LEE'S

The next Gemma Appeal event in aid of the Liam Tighe fund will now be held in Lee's Pub this Saturday, March 13. Tickets are priced at €10, and are available from Lees, or from the Gemma Appeal Committee (Pappy Frawley,

Dickie Gammell, Paul Lewis). There will be lots of 60s and 70s music, with spot prizes. Fancy dress is essential.

WOMEN'S GROUP

SET DANCING

Set Dancing is held on Wednesday evenings in Byrne's Mill Room from 8 p.m.

CONSTITUENCY CLINIC

Fine Gael County Councillor Simon Harris will host a constituency clinic in the Mollys Pub on Main Street on Saturday March 13 from 12.30 p.m. to 1.30 p.m.

SENIOR CITIZENS

The club runs on Wednesday afternoons from 2-4 p.m. in the Old Boys School/IT Centre. Come along and enjoy a cup of tea, chat, bingo and organised trips. For further information please contact Tony Rennix on 086 0747039.

BINGO

Bingo is held on Monday nights in St. Patrick's Hall, starting at 8.30 p.m. sharp. All are welcome to come along and join in the fun and win some prizes.
