ST. ANNE'S PARISH: Mass times: Mass is celebrated in St. Anne's Church at 10 a.m and 7.30 p.m. Monday to Saturday. Weekend mass times are 6.30 p.m. Saturday Vigil mass and Sunday at 8 a.m., (9 a.m. in St. Columcille's Hospital), 10.30 a.m. (family mass), 12 noon and 6 p.m. Confessions are heard on Saturdays after the 10 a.m. mass, between 12.30 p.m. and 1 p.m. and after the 6.30 p.m. mass.
Pakistan: Sincere thanks is extended to everyone for their generosity shown recently for the special Pakistan collection which raised €11261.
Trocaire has been working for almost 40n years in Pakistan so is well placed to respond quickly to this appalling humanitarian disaster which has affected more people than the Haiti earthquake and the Asian tsunami combincd.
So if you have opportunity and the means please keep helping: the need is beyond our under standing.
Evening Mass: Today (Wednesday) the celebration of the weekday 7.30pm Evening Mass resumes until Friday. Due to the priests being on retreat it will not be celebrated from Monday September 6th to Friday September 10th and will resume on Monday September 13th.
St.Vincent de Paul Society: The members of the Shankill Conference of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul wish to thank all those who contributed to their August monthly collection which amounted to €2085.
First Friday: This Friday is the First Friday of the month and the Blessed Sacrament Chapel will be open all day. Anyone who would like Holy Communion brought to them at home is asked to leave their contact details into the Parish Office.
Fete: On Saturday the Rathmichael Parish Fete takes place in the grounds of Rathmichael National School from 12 Noon to 4pm - there will be bargains galore and some great entertainment as well.
Blessed Sacrament Adoration Chapel: This will be open 10.30am to 12.30pm Monday to Friday until further notice.
Baptisms: These take place in St. Anne's Church at 12.45 p.m. on the first Sunday of the Month and at 5 p.m. on the second, third and fourth Saturdays of the month. A month's notice is required. Please contact the St. Anne's Parish Office located in St. Anne's Resource Centre to make your arrangements.
Please note that when visiting the Parish Office to arrange a baptism, the child's birth certificate should be brought as it necessary to photocopy it for the parish records but it will be returned immediately.
Miraculous Medal: Miraculous Medal Devotions take place at the Monday 10am mass.
The Parish Office: The Parish Office is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, to Thursday and on Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. St. Anne's Resource Centre is open from 9 a.m. to 8.30 p.m. and on Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Those requiring Baptism / Confirmation certificates or application forms for Baptism can obtain them during the above hours. Please note that the Parish Office is the only place where certificates and application forms can be processed.
District Church Weekend Masses: Weekend Masses are celebrated in the Church of the Apostles, Ballybrack, on Saturday at 6.30pm and on Sunday at 11.30am; in the Church of SS Alphonsus and Columba, Ballybrack, on Sunday at 10am and 12 Noon; in Stephen's Church, Killiney, on Saturday at 6pm and in Loughlinstown on Saturday at 6pm and on Sunday at 11am.
District Church Baptism Times: SS Alphonsus and Columba Church, Ballybrack - First Sunday of each month at 1pm. Church of the Apostles, Ballybrack – Third Sunday of each month at 12.30pm. Loughlinstown – Second Saturday of each month at 3pm and the Fourth Sunday of each month at 12 Noon.

Morning Prayer: This is said in St. Anne's Church at 9.20 a.m. from Monday to Saturday each week and is followed by the Rosary. Everyone is welcome.
Child Protections Policy: St. Anne's Parish is fully compliant with the Diocesan Policy on Child Protection with the Parish Child Protection Statement displayed prominently in the Church porches, Sacristy, St. Anne's Resource Centre and schools. This is reviewed at every meeting of the Parish Pastoral Council to ensure that the parish in full compliance with the Diocesan guidelines.
Bethany Support Group: Those who have been bereaved and would like support in the their grief, now or in the future, can contact the Bethany Bereavement Support by calling Rita at 282 5582 or the Parish Office on 2822277.
Parish Radios: More parish radios to receive the parish radio link have now arrived in St. Anne's Resource Centre. If anyone would like to sponsor a radio for an elderly or housebound person, their donation would be very welcome. The actual cost of a radio is €35.
Parish Pastoral Council: The St. Anne's PPC invites and always welcomes suggestions and comments from parishioners which can be left into St. Anne's Resource Centre.

Rathmichael Parish & School Fete: This Saturday a year of hard work and planning by Mark Thornburgh and his team will come to a successful conclusion with the holding of this year's Rathmichael Parish Fete - Shankill's Fete of the Year - which takes place in Rathmichael School, Stonebridge Road, (Dublin Road end), Shankill, between 12 Noon and 4pm.
There will be toys, books, refreshments, games, cakes, good as new clothes, a bottle stall, raffles, a children's fancy dress competition, the Fagan School of Dancing and a Jazz Band. All this week work on the Fete has been progressing in the school grounds as the marquees and tents are erected. This event is always a great one so please make a point of calling in as you never know what bargains you might fund at it.

GRIP round two is kicking off on September 25th. After a fun filled season , the GRIP leaders are looking forward to seeing last years members and some newbies. Meetings of the Shankill Guild ICA takes place at 8 p.m. on the second Monday of each month in the Shankill Old Folks Association Day Centre, Lower Road, Shankill. The Guild's Activity Night takes place at 8 p.m. on the third Monday of each month in the Shankill Old Folks Association Day Centre.

The Shankill Old Folks Association is always glad to welcome new members to 'The Club' which is held in the Shankill Old Folks Association Centre on Lower Road every Wednesday afternoon from 2 to 4 p.m which includes tea and a raffle followed by Bingo – transport can be arranged - call 2826364.
Voluntary helpers are always welcome too, either in xthe Day Centre, on the Meals on Wheels service or helping with the monthly First Saturday Book Sales. BOOK SALE
On Saturday morning the September First Saturday Book Sale takes place from 10am to 1pm in the Shankill Old Folks Association Centre on Lower Road, Shankill, when as always there will be a massive array of books, both fiction and factual, available to choose from and donations of books are always welcome and appreciated.
Funds raised by the monthly First Saturday Book Sale support the Shankill Old Folks Association and its Meals on Wheels. CLASSICAL MUSIC CLUB
Tonight (Wednesday) the AGM of the Shankill Classical Music Club takes place at 7.45pm in the Shankill Old Folks Association on Lower Road and will be followed by a short programme of music.

Shankill Public Library located on Library Road will be open this Saturday and next Monday 10am to 1pm and 2 pm and 5pm but closed the following Saturday and Monday. After an overcast start to last Sunday, the sun and blue skies broke through at lunchtime in time for the afternoon of music and craic for all the family organised by Shankill Traders and the Shankill Tidy Towns.
The good weather lasted throughout the afternoon for this great family fun filled event which saw the main Street area crowded with people for the duration of this event.
