TOY STORY
Wednesday February 03 2010
ANOTHER SUCCESSFUL toy and model collectors' fair got underway at the Bray Wheeler's club house last Sunday, with a great turn-out, despite having been postponed for a week.
Snow and ice put paid to the previous week's event, which included toy cars, dolls houses, train sets and more toys for big boys and girls!
The event has been running on a monthly basis at the Bray Wheelers' clubhouse since September and has grown immensely in popularity amongst local collectors.
Collectors were able to buy and sell, or swap as well as get their toys or models valued free of charge. There was a test track there to try out model trains and toys ranged from cars and other vehicles to dolls, still in their original packaging.
'There is a big interest in the area,' said Sean Ryan, one of the organisers. He and his colleague Des Cooney settled on Bray due to the availability of a hall and continue to be more than happy with the choice of venue in the north Wicklow area.
