Valentine Blues
AS PART of the recent launch of the Greystones Weekender concept, Greystones Valentine Blues Weekender takes place in the village from Thursday, February 16, to Sunday, February 19.
This weekend comprises live blues performances and workshops scheduled at various venues throughout the town. The concept of Greystones Weekender is to promote periodic weekend events of different themes which will include as many venues as possible in the village.
Live events will take place at the Hot Spot Coffee House/wine Bar, Mrs Robinson's Bar and the Happy Pear. Vino Pasta Restaurant is also getting into the spirit of the blues, offering 'Southern style' dishes and cocktails as part of the weekend flavour.
Performers are among the cream of the blues scene in Ireland and include Dermot Byrne, The Business with the legendary Pat Farrell, Chicago blues band Parchman Farm and top jazz and blues guitarist Nigel Mooney along with Myles Drennan. Other talented musicians include Mia Parsons, Drazen Derek, Brian Meakin, Mick O Neill and Hozier.
