ANNA CHOUISKAIA from Bray got down and dirty when she joined Princess Warrior, Louise Loughlin from Leitrim at Ireland's first ever Mud Run in aid of Multiple Sclerosis Ireland.

More than 400 people from all over the country got mud-soaked in the Mud Run at Mondello Park last Saturday, which was supported by Persil. Anna and the other participants ran 5km cross-country through mudpits, water pools and under and over tricky obstacles to help raise over €60,000 for the charity.

'The Mud Run was a totally new fundraising concept for us and Ireland,' said David Allen of MS Ireland. 'The event was definitely for those seeking a challenging but fun and exciting race. We've been blown away by the response and huge generosity from everyone. The amount of money raised has completely exceeded our expectations.'

All the funds will go directly to help people and their families living with Multiple Sclerosis across the country.
