BRAY'S ARDMORE Bar is on the market with a guide price of €500,000, three months after the previous proprietor was forced to cease trading.

The premises were taken over by receivers back in October, with leaseholder Dave Tew removing all stock and fixtures of his own from the site.

The 235 square metre put has attracted much interest from prospective buyers, according to agents CB Richard Ellis.

Tom Kavanagh of Kavanagh Fennell was appointed last year as receiver for Cormore Investments ( Dublin) Ltd.

A sign was placed on the pub door on the day of its closure which read: ' We have closed due to our unsuccessful attempts to retain and run The Ardmore Bar with the receivers Tom Kavanagh of Kavanagh Fennell, acting on behalf of Bank of Scotland Ireland Ltd, who place the former owner of the premises Cormore Investments (Dublin Ltd) into receivership. Despite the fact that a 10-year lease had been produced but not executed we had to take this drastic and unpopular decision to close immediately. Both management and staff thank you the customer of The Ardmore Bar Bray for being a true supporter and friend in these very difficult times.'

Mr. Tew, who had been running the Ardmore for more than 18 months, told the Bray People on the eve of the closure that he had no trade creditors and the business had been producing a healthy turnover.
