A WOMAN was rushed to hospital with burns to her body after a fire at her Ard Na Greine home in Bray in the early hours of Saturday morning.
The estate is located off the Boghall Road. The fire service was called to the house at around 4 a.m. on Saturday. The woman, who was asleep in a chair when the alarm was raised, was already out of the house.
The cause of the fire is as yet unknown however Detective Inspector Frank Keeneghan of Bray Garda Station said that they do not believe there was malicious intent behind the blaze.
Firemen managed to quickly extinguish the fire which, despite the injuries to the resident, was a relatively small one.
The victim is being treated for her injuries in hospital. Her condition is understood to be serious, but not lifethreatening.
