Campaign stepped up for Educate Together secondary level school

GREYSTONES Second-Level Action Group is stepping up its campaign for an Educate Together second level school in the town, having sent a deputation recently to Greystones Town Council.
They want a new second-level school which is multi-denominational, co-educational, learner centred and managed with active participation of parents in the running of the school, said a representative.
The deputation received a positive reception from the town councillors. According to Councillor Derek Mitchell, 'Fifty per cent of secondary school pupils leave Greystones to attend second level schools.
A major objective for Greystones town is to provide a school with an ethos which is attractive to the residents of Greystones and the Educate Together ethos should, therefore, fulfil this.'
