Community shop open for business on Main Street
VALENTINE'S AIMS TO RAISE FUNDS FOR CHARITIES
VALENTINE'S Community Shop Limited will open its doors in Bray today ( Wednesday).
The Main Street shop, formerly the MS Shop, will promote community spirit, generosity and sharing and at the same time create employment for the staff and volunteers who worked in the MS Charity shop in the past.
Valentine's Community Shop will operate similarly to a charity shop in that it will be stocked by donated goods for sale. In return the organisers will donate funds annually to local charities and community organisations in the Wicklow area who are working to provide necessary services to improve and enhance the quality of life for people in our locality.
The aim of the shop is to continue to support services for people with MS in Wicklow by making donations to the MS East Wicklow Branch. And also to Ballwaltrim Community Centre, based on the Boghall road in Bray, who have a number of clubs running in the centre for all the community including youth groups, youth drop-in centre and also a very successful boxing club.
'In order for the new venture to succeed we will need regular donations, we will accept all items of clothing, CDS, DVDS, bed linen, bric-a-brac, books, shoes and bags. But we need your custom,' said store manager Deirdre O'brien-ray.
