FASSAROE 'CAR PARK SHOULD BE PROVIDED' Greens lashed over 'bus plan'
DEPUTY Billy Timmins has drawn on the immortal words of Groucho Marx to launch a scathing attack on the Green Party following their role in the Budget this year. ' Those are my principles,' he quoted. 'And if you don't like them... well, I have others.'
In an attack on the Government's approach to carbon emissions, Deputy Billy Timmins has said that Fassaroe should have been provided with a bus-shuttle car park to encourage commuters to avail of a rapid bus service to and from Dublin.
'The Budget made no provision for the acquisition by Dublin Bus of new buses,' said Deputy Timmins. 'The decision fails to address worsening traffic congestion and carbon emissions in the capital city.'
He said that the 145 bus service between Kilmacanogue and the city has been a 'remarkable success,' adding that the provision of a supervised car park in the Fassaroe area seems 'an obvious and effective step the government could take to tackle transport emissions and congestion'.
