Gardai believe body is missing 18-year-old
KIPPURE SEARCH COMES TO AN END

A TWO-WEEK long search has uncovered human remains which Gardai expect to positively identify as Marioara Rostas.
The remains were unearthed on Monday at 11 a.m. in an isolated area close to the Kippure estate on the Sally Gap to Manor Kilbride road. The search concentrated on Coillte land after Gardai investigating the 18-year-old's disappearance received specific information regarding a possible burial site.
The last known sighting of Ms Rostas was in January 2008. Gardai believe that she was brought to a house by a well known Dublin criminal where she was assaulted before being killed. GARDAI BELIEVE the human remains unearthed on land along the Sally Gap to Manor Kilbride are those of missing teenager Marioara Rostas.
The remains were found buried in a bag on Monday morning during the 13th day of the search.
Ms Rostas, a member of the Roma community, had only been in Ireland for three weeks before her disappearance. The last known sighting of her was by her brother in January 2008 as she got into a car in Dublin city centre.
For the past fortnight Gardai have been searching and excavating an isolated site close to the Kippure Estate as part of an investigation into the missing 18 year old.
On Monday at 11 a.m. remains were discovered and the Deputy State Pathologist Dr. Khalid Jabbar was contacted. Officers belonging to the Garda Technical Bureau were also called to the scene. A preliminary examination of the body was carried out before the remains were taken to Tallaght Hospital for a postmortem.
The bag containing the remains were buried several feet deep in the ground.
Gardai investigating her disappearance believe she was shot and killed inside a house which was later set on fire to try and destroy any evidence.
Her brother saw her talking to a man driving a Silver Mondeo on Lombard Street East, Dublin City Centre at 2 p.m. on January 6 2008. The man is believed to be a well known gangland criminal who operates from within the capital city.
She was taken to a house in the south inner city and held against her will. Officers understand that she was assaulted in the house before being shot dead.
Despite the fire to the premises, Gardai were able to detect DNA evidence which indicated that Ms Rostas had been injured inside the house. There was also evidence that a gun had been discharged inside the house.
The scene where the remains were located is still being examined by members of the Garda Technical Bureau for any evidence which may assist with the investigation and the examination could continue for much of the week.
