A BRAY teenager sufferered a violent seizure that lasted over half an hour last Thursday night when she took 'Wild Cat,' a substance sold by head shops which produces what is termed a legal high.
Paramedics told the 17-year-old's mother that her daughter was close to death when she was taken to Loughlinstown Hospital after taking the substance. Doctors fought for three hours to save her and the teenager is now recovering from her ordeal.
That incident was followed later on Friday when two men in their 20s were taken by ambulance from a seafront hotel to hospital, also because of taking substances bought in a head shop.
'They were suffering from chest pains, (had) trouble breathing and pins and needles,' said a HSE employee. Both are now recovering.
A staff member at Nirvana in Bray said that 'Wild Cat was taken off the market last week'. BRAY MAN Gareth O'Brien has been charged with the murder of Dubliner Shay O'Byrne, who was shot dead in Tymon North Park, Tallaght, on March 13 last year.

O'Brien (32) with an address in Clover Hill, Bray, appeared in Tallaght District Court last Thursday morning before Judge James McDonnell.
He was remanded in custody to appear in Cloverhill District Court on Thursday of this week.
