Jones throws support behind restaurant association

Wednesday March 10 2010

Fine Gael Councillor George Jones has pledged his support for the creation of a Restaurant Association in Greystones.

Cllr. Jones said 'many years ago such a body existed in the town but with the approach of the Celtic Tiger years it ceased to operate. I have also said for many years Greystones should be the Kinsale of the East Coast.

If such a body was set up once more I feel the restaurant owners and the town would see the benefit in a very short time and working together they can improve this section of the tourism industry for Greystones.

'Working together we can achieve a lot and with the promotion of Greystones as the 'Gourmet Capital of Ireland' we will retain jobs and further improve the image of the town.'

In the past the La Touche Legacy has published a Guide to Accommodation & Dining in Greystones.
