Lions pay visit to hospital
MEMBERS OF Wicklow and District Lions Club, including president Joe Kirwin , were out in force on Sunday last when the club paid their annual visit to St. Colman's hospital in Rathdrum.
Every January the Wicklow Town based club organise a Sunday afternoon party for the patients which has become one of the highlights of the year in Rathdrum.
Of course entertainment is an essential part of any party and Sunday was no exception when top class music was supplied with much delight to all by Jackie and Sean Olohan, with guests Thomas Byrne and Shay Dunne, and some special performances by many of the residents of the hospital.
Sean has recently become a member of the Lions and has written a new song called ' The Lions , We have the Community in our Hearts' to mark the 25th anniversary of the local club.
The song is receiving much acclaim with Irish and International Lions and will be available commercially very soon, helping to raise awareness of the club in local communities.
Wicklow and District Lions have just started their weekly Pub Quiz nights at various venues which will raise vital funds for many local charities.
