LIVING UP TO EXPECTATIONS

Wednesday March 10 2010

CHARLES DICKENS' ' Great Expectations,' was performed by the Bray Institute of Further Education performing arts students last week.

The story of orphan Philip Pirrip, otherwise known as ' Pip,' was told in the Mermaid Arts Centre.

Pip travelled to London on his quest for maturity, and became a gentleman by chance.

The BIFE cast staged a modern adaptation of the play by Declan Donnellan and Nick Ormerod.

All three years of the course were involved in the production but it was a very significant production for the third years as it was their final show before graduating from the University of Swansea. The cast of more than 35 actors worked on the play from January. Pip was played by Richard Madigan while Estella was played by Doireann Kavanagh.
