Looking at the stars in Glendalough
Wednesday March 10 2010
A LARGE number of people who made the journey to Glendalough last Saturday weren't interested in the beautiful scenery that surrounded them, just the stars above them!
The star-gazing evening organised by the Irish Astronomical Society attracted visitors from around Co Wicklow and further afield who all came to stare into the night sky with powerful telescopes.
The evening with a talk by Deirdre Kelleghan of the Irish Astronomical Society on the Cassini-Huygens Mission to Saturn and her moons in the Education Centre at the Upper Lake, Glendalough.
It was followed with a close look at Saturn and her moons, thanks to members of the Irish Astronomical who had powerful telescopes set up for everyone to use.
