Mandy picked for DIT catwalk strut
SHANKILL model Mandy Mcgovern Brennan has been chosen to take part in this year's DIT Fashion Show.
Mandy was handpicked by Andrea Roche to appear with her on The Late Late Show recently as an aspiring Irish model.
The show will take place in Vicar Street this year on March 21 with the theme ' End of the world - dawn of a new era.'
The model castings took place on the 23rd of November in DIT where the beautiful models were chosen by model Rozanna Purcell, fashion expert Brendan Courtney, stylist for the stars Maria Fusco and model Shireen Mcdonnagh.
There was great energy in the Aungier Street campus on the night where Dara Quilty and Brian Maher from Spin1038 broadcasted The Zoo Crew live from the castings.
Mandy studies creative and cultural industries at the Dublin college.
'It's a brand new course. It's really really hard but it's good,' she said. 'I just fell in to modelling by accident, I didn't really expect it of myself,' she added. 'I love the clothes!'
'I love her energy,' said Andrea Roche. 'She's full of confidence and that's really great, especially if you're ever going for commercial work.'
The judges for this year's competition are Bairbre Power, Angela Scanlon, Maria Fusco and Brendan Courtney.
Nearly 70 DIT students will run the show, which organisers describe as a 'major production with a theme that demands dramatics, preparation and sends real message about the times we live in.'
