New show will be 'Seussical'
Wednesday October 21 2009
WITH THEIR mid-year show ' Showstoppers' coming together nicely, Avonmore Musical Society this week announce details of their main show for 2010.
'Seussical' offers a unique insight into the wild and wacky world of Dr. Seuss and is set to be a musical extravaganza suitable for all the family.
This week, the Martina Lynch Dance Studio at the Bridgewater Shopping Centre was packed full of musical theatre lovers where the committee and production held an information evening for the public.
The mischievous cat in the hat will come to life through this fantastical, magical, musical production.
Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty (Lucky Stiff, My Favourite Year, Once on this Island, and Ragtime) have lovingly brought to life all of our favourite Dr. Seuss characters, including Horton the elephant, Gertrude McFuzz, Lazy Mayzie and all of the Whos of Whoville.
These classic, colourful tales are seamlessly brought together by Jojo, a young boy and 'thinker of strange and wonderful thinks'!
Auditions will take place on Friday October 30 for children with time and venue to be confirmed.
An information evening for parents and children will take place at 5.30p.m. on Friday, October 23. Call backs for children call backs will take place on November 1.
Adult dance auditions commence on Monday, November 2 and main auditions are set for Wednesday 4.
