Planning sought for seafront car park
PLANS for a huge seafront development in Bray have been shelved and permission is now being requested to put 130 car parking spaces on the site instead.
Owners of Dawson's amusements on the Bray seafront have applied for permission to demolish the building and install the parking spaces.
This comes 2.5 years after plans to develop a ' Riviera' style project along the seafront strip.
According to architect Brian O'donnell, the economy intervened to shelve those plans for the time being.
He said that owners Brian and Gerry Freeney are keen to do something positive with the site pending a proper re- development. 'A functioning car park will be far preferable to a dilapidated hoardedup building,' he said.
The new application was made to Bray Town Council yesterday.
