Eleven sentences in three garda statements relating to the incident were identical, the court heard.
Garda Conor Waldron, Garda Peter Firth and Garda Derbhla Kelleher all told the court that they made their statements in Bray Garda Station and alone.
They said that they could not account for the similarities in their statements. GARDAI 'mimicked each other like parrots,' in the case of Leinster rugby player accused of punching a bouncer in Bray last summer.
Judge Murrough Connellan made the remark before dismissing the assault case against Jason Harris Wright (21), 23 Meadow Brook, Kilcoole, at Bray District Court on Friday.
The Judge added that it had been very difficult to get a straight answer after several requests for CCTV of the incident, having been told that there was 'no footage,' that the cameras were pointing the wrong direction, and eventually that the 'button had not been pressed.'
'The Court feels it was not receiving straight answers,' he said.
Martello doorman Peter Charmant said that he stepped in to split up a row on the premises between five men in the early hours of July 17, 2008, on Strand Road, on the opening night of Bray Summerfest.
He asked the larger group of three, including Harris Wright, to leave the premises and they went outside.
He said he offered the other two men a lift to Shankill but that the other group of men approached them en-route to the car.
Charmant claimed that HarrisWright 'called me a black c**t and told me to go back to my own country and called me a n***er b*****d, said Mr. Charmant. Harris-Wright denied this, remarking that he plays sport with people of different races and is not a racist.
He said that the other two people with Harris Wright then ' attacked' the two people he was going to drive home and Jamie McGuinn, another bouncer, tried to break it up. He then said that Jason 'jumped in' and started throwing punches. He fell and was caught by Mr. McGuinn, he said.
Harris Wright told the Court that he was passing the Martello that night when he noticed his friend Peter arguing with someone and went up to 'diffuse the situation.' He said he had only consumed two bottles of Bud Lite.
He said Peter Charmant asked Jason, Peter Duggan, and Peter's brother Stephen to leave, which they did.
He and Stephen then walked towards Barracuda to meet Jason's dad Terrence Wright, a hackney driver
Peter Duggan was again arguing with the same man on the other side of the road in the direction they were walking.
Jason and his friends gave evidence that Peter Charmant approached Jason, and after exchanging shoves the doorman punched him and he fell to the ground before getting back up and punching him back.
'I never punched Jason,' said Charmant, who does Thai boxing twice weekly for exercise. 'I never touched him. I have been working there for five years and there have been no complaints. I am not a physically violent person.'
Gardai said that when they arrived the accused was 'throwing punches' at the door staff; however witnesses for the defence, with Margaret Farrelly BL, said that the altercation was over by the time gardai arrived.
They also said that he resisted arrest so much that two guards had to arrest him and he had to be pinned to the bonnet of the car.
Harris Wright said that only one garda arrested him, that he was hand-cuffed from behind and that he cooperated.
