FINE GAEL COUNCILLOR John Ryan has rejected criticism over the use of his image in a poster campaign to highlight a public meeting to discuss job creation and economic recovery in north Wicklow, which is taking place this coming Thursday.
The poster, which has a similar appearance to general election posters, has appeared in a number of places over the past week throughout North Wicklow.
Mayor of Greystones, Fianna Fáil's Ciaran Hayden said the information about the meeting is dominated by councillor Ryan's image on the posters, which he says poorly disguises an internal battle within Fine Gael in north Wicklow, between hopefuls seeking selection as candidates in the next General election.
However, Councillor Ryan said that the use of his image on the poster was to highlight his involvement in the meeting.
