Newtown GAA Club held our annual Juvenile Award Presentation Ceremony in the Newtown Community Centre last Sunday, 28th February. It was here that we honoured our football stars of the future and presented awards to the most outstanding players of all age groups. We honoured all the successes our underage sides have had in the last year, but special mention must go to our U-12 side who are the County A Champions and winners of the North East League. Also, our U-16 team who won the County B-Shield. Congratulations to all players who attended, but particular mention must be made to several players; Vova Rooney (U-12, Most Dedicated Player), Michael Doyle (U-12, Player Of The Year; Man Of The Match in the U-12 County Final), Aidan Carthy (U-14, Most Dedicated Player), Stuart Synnott (U-14, Player Of The Year), Shane Farrell (U-16, Most Dedicated Player) and Stephen Davis (U-16, Player Of The Year). Congratulations to all mentors and parents who made this year such a success for our developing underage sides. Newtown GAA Club would also like to extend a big thank you to Wicklow Senior County Manager Mick O'Dwyer who presented the awards to our young players and gave a most inspirational speech. Thank you, Mick!

Our new Senior League campaign gets under way this Saturday. Newtown will be playing in Tinahely at 4pm on Saturday, 6th February. Good luck to all our players, our new management team and all involved in the team.
