Runners head to the hills

ON SATURDAY last a hill race was held in Annacurra village which attracted a great turnout of some 172 runners of all ages.
The race took runners up the hill overlooking Annacurra and Aughrim on forest trails and back, a distance of over 10k.
The overall winner of the day was New Zealander Jason Reid in a great time of 44:53. He took the lead in the closing stages from reigning Ireland mountain running champion Peter O'Farrell from Rathfarnham.
The first lady home was Karen O'Hanlon from Maynooth.
