Mini rugby resumes at Wicklow RFC
FOLLOWING A very successful summer camp - as reported here a fortnight ago, Wicklow RFC are resuming age-grade rugby this Saturday, September 4, at Ashtown Lane.
Wicklow up and running
WICKLOW 1ST XV got their South East League campaign off to a winning start with a good win away to a tough Gorey side on Sunday. The game was played on a beautiful sunny day on an excellent pitch.
Wicklow sink Guinness
Wicklow RFC 24 Guinness RFC 19: WICKLOW 1ST XV got their season off to a winning start with a good win over a tough Guinness side at Ashtown Lane on Sunday. Both teams used the game to try out their full squads. The game was broken up into four quarters of 25 minutes each with rolling subs used throughout.
Rugby camp a total success
The annual 'Scrum 4 Fun' Summer Camp at Wicklow Rugby Football Club was held last week and the popular event was a roaring success. Despite the horrendous weather, the event showed there were no fair-weather rugby players to be had in Wicklow as a terrific week was had by all 110 plus boys and girls that took part in Scrum 4 Fun camp.

DANIEL MANNION from Wicklow RFC recently became the fifth Wicklow player to be capped for the Irish Youths. Wicklow Rugby Club's youth section is the pride and joy of the club and is recognised as one of the best youth set-ups in Leinster.

Wicklow Vikings are pipped by Exiles in debut
WICKLOW VIKINGS Rugby League team took to the pitch for their first ever game at Ashtown Lane recently. With a team completely new to the rules of rugby league Wicklow Vikings were definite underdogs for the match. Their opponents on the day were the Dublin City Exiles, who have been a long-standing team in Rugby League Ireland over the last six years.
Butterworth stars for Leinster
ARKLOW RUGBY Club's Johnny Butterworth was selected to represent the Leinster Junior team against Connaught and Ulster in the recent junior inter-provincial series.
