St. Gerard's edged out
FOR THE third time in this year's Leinster Schools Senior Cup, David was readying his slingshot. As St. Gerard's School took on St. Michael's College in Donnybrook for a place in the Leinster Schools Senior Cup final. The opening minutes were really a battle of wits more than anything; both full backs exchanged points before anything materialized.
Wicklow U-15s go through in cup
WICKLOW Under 15s advanced to the quarter final of the cup with a 22 points to 5 win over New Ross in Arklow on Saturday. In ideal conditions for playing rugby it was an entertaining contest and both sides were highly committed. Wicklow dominated the set piece from the start stealing ball from the New Ross scrum and line out but throughout the first half could not turn this possession into points.
Swords were no match for rampant Rathdrum
RATHDRUM GOT back into winning ways after a spell of injuries and weather enforced layoffs caused disruption to their progress in the Super Six league campaign. 'Drum took on Swords at home in perfect conditions at the Ivy Leaf and took the game to the visitors from the off and forced a penalty on half way which they opted to kick for the line out.
Wicklow pipped in New Ross
WICKLOW'S first XV travelled to New Ross on Sunday last to play the last league game of a tough season in Division 1B. On the same day, Garda welcomed Newbridge to Westmanstown and Kilkenny who were on the bottom of the table travelled to in form Enniscorthy. One point separated all three teams and the results would determine who would stay up, who would be relegated and who would go into a play off.
'Stones beaten by Terenure in final game
IN THEIR final away game of the season, Greystones started well and almost finished with a win, but with a couple of vital injuries just before the half time break, when they lost both fullback, Andrew Kealy and outhalf Barry Lynn, this cost them dearly at the end.
