Boothman goal gives Blessington the victory
A LAST minute goal by David Boothman gave Blessington victory over Lakeside neighbours Valleymount in the West Wicklow League played at Blessington on Sunday. The sides were level at 0-6 each after a very even first half but a goal by David Miley put Valleymount in front in the second half and as time ticked away it looked as if that score was going to be enough to see the 'Reds' pick up their first brace of points. However a young and inexperienced Blessington team fought on and as the game ticked into injury time 16-year old Boothman got through to blast home the goal with the coolness of a veteran and give the 'Blues' a victory they badly needed.
