Bray face Bohemians in FAI Cup
Wednesday September 01 2010
IF BRAY Wanderers are to make a second consecutive FAI Cup semi final appearance, they'll have to overcome league champions Bohemians first.
Pat Devlin's side were rewarded for their 3-2 win over UCD on Friday night with an away tie against the Dublin side. Victories for the Wicklow club in Dalymount Park are almost as rare as unicorn sightings, but in 2009 under the guidance of Eddie Gormley the Carlisle Grounds club did manage a 21 victory courtesy of goals from John Flood and Gary McCabe.
In the most recent meeting between the pair, Pat Fenlon's side earned three points thanks to a 2-0 win but the scoreline was rather harsh on Wanderers whose efforts may well have merited a point.
With Jake Kelly and Shane O'Neill in the form of their lives, Owen Heary and co. certainly won't be underestimating the seasiders. Anything can happen in the cup and with the form Bray have been in in recent weeks, the Phibsboro outfit know they're in for a battle and will be keen to avoid being the big name casualty in the last eight.
The clash is set to be played the weekend ending September 19.
