Charlesland fight back
Wednesday February 24 2010
THREE MATCHES in Division 3 this week, and that saw Charlesland AFC, Rathnew AFC B and Conary United all pick up 2-1 wins.
Charlesland faced Fassaroe YC B at the Bray venue and trailed 1-0 at the half-time break. But a Barry White double in the second period saw the visitors pick up all three points. White levelled matters midway through the second-half before netting the winner with approximately ten minutes remaining.
Rathnew's 2-1 home win over Wicklow Town B saw the Shamrock Park side reclaim top spot from Carnew FC. Seán Duffy was on target for the visitors who remain in fourth place following this loss while Rathnew take a point lead at the top of the table.
And finally, Conary United picked up only their fourth league win of the season in their home tie with Arklow United C.
David Doran was the home side's hero, as his double at Roosters Park in Avoca earned his side all three points.
