Dundalk up first for Seagulls

Wednesday February 24 2010

BRAY WANDERERS had expected to open their 2010 League of Ireland campaign with a trip to the Brandywell to take on Derry City. But now that the Wicklow club have been reinstated to the Premier Division, it is at the Carlisle Grounds where they begin their new season where Dundalk FC will be the opponents on Friday week.

An interesting tie for Seagulls fans will be the home clash with Sporting Fingal on Friday, March 19, as it was the Dublin side who eliminated Eddie Gormley's men from the FAI Ford Cup at the semi-final stage in 2009 and Fingal were also the side who had initially relegated Gormley's men last season when they beat them in a thrilling twolegged relegation/promotion play-off in November.

The following Friday will see Wanderers reignite their derby with UCD, with the Students hosting Bray for the first time since 2008.

And another date sure to set Wanderers tongues wagging is Friday, June 25, when Shamrock Rovers travel to the Carlisle Grounds.

We will publish the full fixture list next week.
