Enniskerry on form

Wednesday March 03 2010

NORMAL ORDER was restored in Division 1 as far as Enniskerry YC is concerned as they picked up 10th win from 11 matches on Sunday.

The BerryfieldLane side could boast a 100% league record up until the Friday before last when they were held to a 1-1 draw by Glenview FC B. But now the Youth Club have shown that it was just a temporary blip with this win, although it was by no means a walk in the park for Alan Young's men.

In just the 13th minute of this match, both sides found themselves down to 10 men when tempers boiled over between two players.

The hosts had to wait until the 67th to make the breakthrough when Colm McGovern netted from the penalty spot.

United were then reduced to nine men late on before Oscar Traynor player Paul O'Reilly wrapped up the win for his side in the 91st minute with a strike from 18 yards.

Enniskerry now hold a 10 point lead over secondplaced Sugarloaf FC although they have played a game more than the Bray side.
