'Owl' O'Connor optimistic
HE AND HIS Sheffield Wednesday team-mates may be hovering just two points above the relegation zone in the Coca-Cola Championship, but Owls midfielder James O'Connor isn't about to start panicking.
The Bray man played the full 90 minutes as his side were thrashed 4-0 by promotion chasing West Brom at Hillsborough but the former Burnley man thinks a solid shift or two on the training grounds is just what the doctor ordered.
'It's no good feeling sorry for ourselves, we have to keep believing in ourselves and stick together. We will work hard in training and try to put things right.
'On the day they played well and we were poor. West Brom have just come down from the Premiership, they are a very strong team and we saw that first hand.'
And despite that defeat leaving Wednesday languishing in 19 th place in the table, O'Connor is quick to point out that there is a long way to go until the season is over.
'We are still in November, there is a long way to go yet. We will work hard in training and look to come out all guns blazing next Saturday against Reading.'
